“If I’m going to teach you Reels, I promise you, I will never teach you how to make a reel that’s going to take you an hour. I’m trying to teach you how to make Reels in five minutes or less and how to use them effectively on your platform to build buying clients”

Part 2/4: Becoming More Visible On Social Media With Instagram Reels. | Interview at The Build That Business Podcast
When you’re trying to market your wedding business, it can be hard to keep up with all the latest trends. But if you want to stay ahead of the curve, you need to stay on top of the latest social media platforms.
Instagram Reels, is one of the most popular and effective ways to showcase products and brands in a visually appealing way. Instagram Reels are a new way for potential clients to get an idea of your style and personality before booking you for their wedding. They’re also a great way to share your work with the world and attract new clients!
Lindsay J Williams recently hosted me on Build That Business podcast to share everything about Reels. This is the second episode of the four-part series lined up for this August, where I will be sharing with you the podcasts that I did not just feature as a guest but also feel should be in your library if you want to build a profitable wedding business!
But how do you get started with creating an Instagram reel? And how do you make sure it’s effective?
In this episode, we talk about why Reels are so important, how to do them, what to say, what to focus on, and which social media sites are perfect for your marketing campaigns.
Did you know that only a small percentage of your Instagram followers will ever see a grid post that you make? Even worse, think about the engagements if these are the stats!
But with Instagram Reels, they perform a lot better because they work differently.
Reels use a different algorithm, same as how TikTok works: the more you engage with a type of content, the more you’re going to see similar content in your feed.
What does this mean?
The algorithm feeds your Reels only to people who are more likely to engage with them and take action. This is why it’s really crucial to keep your Reels so intentional to what you do.
“You shouldn’t just be doing Reels because it’s Instagram’s newest thing, right? And that’s why people shy away from it.”
There are 3 reasons you can make Reels:
This involves giving tips and educating your audience to showcase yourself as an expert in what you do.
You can lip sync and just point out the tips you’re giving.
Another option is just to face the camera and just speak out for a few seconds. You don’t have to be polished.
Educative Reels are a perfect option for those who still don’t have resources such as images or lack a solid social media presence. Using such Reels will pose you as an expert in your field.
Where do you find topics to talk about? Check them out on the Answer the Public website!
Weddings are all about creating emotions in people’s faces. You can create Reels to inspire people and make them see themselves in the situation.
A good way to do this is by sharing wedding footages or pictures such as the exchanging vows moment, the bride walking down the aisle, or any inspirational moment!
You can share funny wedding clips like the best man losing the rings, the dancing, or anything fun that you can capture!
“82% {and climbing} of all engaged couples are researching their vendors on social media before they purchase.”
With so many social media platforms out there, you need to ensure that you find where your clients spend their time.
For the wedding industry, Instagram and Pinterest have proven to be the best places to find clients. But you can still narrow it down.
So, if you’re looking to increase your sales, you have to focus your marketing efforts on creating Instagram content.
I recommend doing at least 80% of Reels when making content for Instagram!
