Looking to build a profitable business that can run without your constant presence? In today’s episode, Mike Michalowicz shares how he used the Clockwork system to design a business that runs itself. Mike will share how he empowers his employees while freeing himself up to do what he loves.
Mike Michalowicz is an author, entrepreneur, and business coach who is best known for his work in the “Profit First” method of accounting. He has written several books on business and entrepreneurship, including the best-selling book Clockwork, Revised and Expanded: Design Your Business to Run Itself.
Mike Michalowicz is an entrepreneur and author who has experienced both the highs and lows of business. After losing everything in his early 30s, he devoted himself to learning everything he could about entrepreneurship. He has now written several books on the subject, including “Clockwork, Revised and Expanded: Design Your Business to Run Itself.”
In “Clockwork,” Michalowicz lays out a system for business owners to follow in order to create a self-running business. The system is based on the idea of the “QBR,” or the “Queen Bee Role.” This is the one thing that a business owner must do in order to keep their business running. By focusing on the QBR and delegating or outsourcing everything else, a business owner can avoid burnout and create a scalable business. Michalowicz provides readers with practical tips and real-life examples of businesses that have used his system to achieve success.
The blog post discusses Mike Michalowicz’s system for creating a self-running business. The system is based on the idea of the “QBR,” or the “Queen Bee Role.” This is the one thing that a business owner must do in order to keep their business running. By focusing on the QBR and delegating or outsourcing everything else, a business owner can avoid burnout and create a scalable business.
Here are the steps you need to follow to also get Empowered Employees:
1. Define what you want to be known for
2. Find the activity that supports that
3. Focus on that activity to excel at it
1. Define what you want to be known for
The first step is to define what you want to be known for. This involves thinking about what kind of business you want to have and what you want your reputation to be. Do you want to be known for having the most elaborate weddings, the most efficient weddings, or the most decorative weddings? Once you have decided what you want to be known for, you can begin to focus on the activities that will support that reputation. This will help you to excel in your chosen area and build a strong reputation.
If you want to be known for having the most efficient weddings, you need to focus on activities that will help you save time and money. This means finding ways to streamline the wedding planning process and eliminate unnecessary expenses. You should also focus on creating a wedding day timeline that runs smoothly and efficiently. By focusing on these things, you can develop a reputation for being an efficient wedding planner.
If you want to be known for having the most decorative weddings, you need to focus on activities that will help you create beautiful and unique weddings. This means finding ways to add personal touches to the wedding décor and coming up with creative ways to make the wedding stand out. You should also focus on using high-quality materials and products to create a luxurious look and feel for the wedding. By focusing on these things, you can develop a reputation for being a decorative wedding planner.
2. Find the activity that supports that
To find the activity that supports the QBR (Queen Bee Role), first identify what you want to be known for. This will be the activity that supports the QBR. For example, if you want to be known for the most efficient weddings, then the activity that supports this would be procurement of all the resources needed for the wedding.
If you want to be known for the most decorative weddings, then the activity that supports this would be understanding how technology and different elements work together.
Once you know what you want to be known for, finding the activity that supports the QBR is key. This activity will be different for everyone, but it is important to find something that you are passionate about. If you are not passionate about the activity, it will be difficult to maintain the QBR.
Once you find the activity, focus on perfecting it and making it the best that it can be. This is what will make you stand out from the rest and help you achieve the QBR.
3. Focus on that activity to excel at it
In order to find your QBR, you must first identify what you want to be known for. This is what Mike calls the “big promise.” Once you have identified your big promise, you can then look for the activity or QBR that supports and manifests that promise.
For example, if you want to be known for creating the most beautiful and cohesive weddings, your QBR might be procurement of all the necessary materials and décor. By focusing on your QBR and becoming excellent at it, your reputation will precede you and sales will become a no-brainer.
QBR is only one piece of the puzzle when it comes to business success. You also need to have a clear understanding of your target market and what they are looking for. Without this, your QBR will be for naught.
Take the time to really understand your target market and what they want from a business like yours. This will help you to create a QBR that is in line with their needs and wants. In addition to QBR, another important factor in business success is customer service. Always aim to exceed customer expectations with your service. This can be done in a number of ways, such as going above and beyond when fulfilling orders, offering a high level of customer support, or offering unique and valuable loyalty programs. By providing excellent customer service, you’ll create lifelong customers who are more likely to do business with you again and again.
